저도 오래전부터 매우 궁금해하던 주제였는데 결국
제가 내린 결론도 375와 2440은 같은 드라이버 이다 였습니다 .
JBL Unit들을 추적하다보면 이런 류의 헷갈리는 문제들이 많이 있죠 .
유닛의 color ( Blue, grey, black) 문제도 그렇고 ,16옴 8옴
임피던스의 혼용 문제도 그렇고 ...
랜싱포럼의 어느분의 같은 질문에 JBL 최고의 전문가로 보이는 Widget이란 분의
답변을 인용해 보면
The 375 and the 2440 are the same driver. They are not all identical however.
The 375 pre dates the 2440 model introduction. There were several subtle design changes
to the 375 between it\'s introduction in the 1950s and the introduction of the 2440 which
occurred around 1969 or 1970 with the introduction of the JBL Professional Series.
they were produced concurrently thereafter with the introduction of the 376/2441 around
1980. The diamond pattern surround on the aluminum diaphragm makes it a 376 or 2441.
For exact dates and possible acoustic differences (probably lore) over the years of
production someone else will have to chime in.

계속해서 추적해 가다보면 결국 초창기부터 몇번의 Design change는 있었지만
적어도 후기의 375와 2440은 결국 차이가 없다 라고 보는게 맞을듯 싶고 아마도
좀 차이가 있다면 bubble back 버젼이 좀 다르지 않을까 싶네요 .
비슷한 것으로 LE15와 2215B의 차이가 아마도 비슷한 경우가 아닐까 싶네요.
잘아시다 시피 LE15는 Blue도 있고 grey 도 있죠 .
이문제에 대해서 Widget 아저씨는 다음과 같이 말씀하시네요 .
The LE15 came first. Very shortly after it was created it was superseded by the LE15A.
I do not know what the change was between the LE15 and the LE15A. The LE15A had a
foilcal rating it at 16 ohms. Later (70s) LE15As were rated 8 ohms but were identical
to the earlier 16 ohm model.
JBL decided to create JBL Professional with the woofer designations of 21XX and 22XX.
The LE15A was to be called the 2215. Then JBL decided to make a lower impedance version.
Since their Pro designation for 8 ohm was \"A\", they called the \"8 ohm\" 2215 the 2215A
and the \"16 ohm\" 2215 the 2215B. Next came the ferrite magnets with the \"H\" and \"J\"
designations replacing the inconsistent \"A\", \"B\", etc. system. They produced a ferrite 8
ohm version of the LE15A called the 2215H.
결국 Ferrite version 인 2215H가 나오기 전까지의 버젼은 LE15와 같다....
